The age-old India - Pakistan sporting rivalry is ready to take on a new arena at BRAVE CF 101, and one fight on the card has the entire South Asian MMA community buzzing: Punyajit Likharu (India) vs. Aqib Awan (Pakistan), a Bantamweight showdown that transcends borders, pride, and pure competition.

But this clash isn’t just about two fighters. It’s about two teams, two nations, and two visions of MMA’s future with Team Anshul Jubli in India and Team Rizwan Ali in Pakistan standing behind their men.

For India, Punyajit Likharu (5-1-0) represents the new wave of disciplined, technically sharp athletes transforming Indian MMA. Trained under Soma Fight Club and Crosstrain Fight Club, the Assamese striker has grown from India’s local circuits into one of Asia’s most promising prospects. Backing him in his corner is none other than India’s UFC trailblazer, Anshul Jubli, whose rise to international fame has inspired a generation of fighters. Jubli, known for his calculated aggression, now mentors Likharu as he carries India’s flag onto BRAVE CF’s global stage.

His opponent, Pakistan’s Aqib Awan (7-3-0) enters with a mission of his own, representing Fight House Islamabad, a powerhouse in Pakistan’s MMA scene. He’s joined by his corner and mentor, Rizwan Ali, a name that’s been making waves since his viral callout of Anshul Jubli in August 2024.

Ali’s post-fight challenge and Jubli’s light-hearted yet respectful response, calling him his “Parosi brother”, sent ripples through the MMA world. Their exchange not only broke the internet but also symbolized how MMA is becoming the newest and most thrilling chapter of the India–Pakistan sporting saga. Now, with both fighters cornering their teammates in Bahrain, Team Anshul vs. Team Rizwan is no longer just an online rivalry.
